She also told me infront of everyone what was wrong with Tami and why she wasnt their and I dont think that was nice or professional to tell a room full of people an employees buisness.It was nice to know Tami is ok,but I didnt need to know what her health issues were that showed me how uncaring the staff was.if they can talk about their own co-workers personal buisness like that then what do they say about the patients and to how many listening ears.In talking to the girl at the desk she was very rude when she said that Tami probabley wouldnt be back that the company replaced her for being gone on a leave for her health problems.Shame on you labcorp,get rid of the good people and keep the ones with bad attitudes.You as a company should learn to work with the good employees to keep them.The front desk girl told me what her medical problem was and how it was affecting her typing and drawing sometimes.You as a company could learn to make accomidations for your good people.everytime I came in Tami was taking care of the desk and drawing the patients and the other girl was in the break room on her cell phone or in the hall on her phone.Maybe you as a company should look at the fact that maybe tami could be their and working and doing ok with her health issues if she wasnt doing everything every time I came in.Maybe she could work with a couple simple adjustments to the people around her that you pay not to work.I am sad she is gone and where ever she does go if labcorp is stupid enough to let her go and keep the horrible people in their now then I will follow where ever she is and I dont care if it isnt payed by my insurance.She is that good. I drive across town avoiding all the closer locations to my house to have Tami draw my blood.I told everyone I knew once I met her that she was the person to go to for labwork and worth the drive,if you want someone skilled and polite who really does care to treat every patient with respect.Im sad that I cant find her she was the best and the people that are their now are rude,they only care about getting a paycheck.They play on their phones infront of patients when you come out from having blood drawn you walk by the front desk to get out and sometimes they are not even doing work,when we think they are imputing to handle the next patient they are online and obviousley shopping,playing games or doing god knows what.How sad a room full of patients that need their blood drawn and they are treated real bad.I hope Tami comes back and soon because that place is horrible again now thatshe is gone.I told my Dr to send me to quest until Tami comes back.I dont want to go their without her their or to any of the other labcorp sites by my home because I get poor service at them as well.Im angry she is gone and angry that a company would rather keep people that dont care then make accomidations for their good employees. I have enjoyed working with them for the last 6 years. Now is a different story. The new upper management must have come from Quest. They believe everyone beneath them are "stupid" they won't talk directly with anyone below there status. They have either fired or forced out the VERY GOOD middle management and put there work load onto the phlebotomist, along with there daily patient load. The latest is a upper manager Vizmar Salsido, San Diego,CA. She is really trying to climb the corporate ladder. She is such a snake she just might make it. She really believes her MBA makes her a good person, so she is quick to let you know it, that is if you are one of the privileged ones she acutely speaks to. I have also noticed that in the time this new management has stepped in all of the "Black" managers have been let go, fired or forced out. Hum. Bring it on North Carolina . I just hope they get together and file a discrimination law suit and do it soon. We want our caring LabCorp back. I can only hope that they get bought out soon or the insurance company's get wise and STOP using them. I have always been a hard-working, dedicated employee. I have always given 100% going in early and staying late. Never being compensated for the time thinking it was my job. After working for LabCorp for a year i developed severe stress and high blood pressure. I was even admitted to Emergency Room with a suspected heart attack. After overnight stay in hospital and stress test i was told that i needed to be on prescribed blood pressure medication and anxiety medication. I have tenure of over 20years, i didn't want to lose my benefits or lost of pay. My immediate supervisor seemed to only care about what her supervisor wanted. We were being pushed to move patients, ask for credit cards from medicare/ins patients, no breaks, no overtime just work work work. We only had 2.5 employees seeing around 100 patients a day. Patients wait times were over 2hrs. Supervisor just keep saying keep wait times down, collect credit cards...incentive will be given. Mistakes were made because of so much pressure to work with short staff. I finally quit LabCorp...20years service. I know everyone is replaceable but after 20years service that was a hard realization. I am now working for another lab, yes took cut in pay. I am no longer taking anxiety or blood pressure medication. My health is more important than working for a company that neither cares about their employees or the patients. They took blood as the Dermatology Clinc of North Mississippi had stated on the form I was to give to LabCorp. Now I get a bill from LabCorp for 151.00. It is broken down as follows. Hepatic Function Panel (7) for 41.00 I assume that is the blood test. Now get this one, Antinuclear Antibodies Direct for 86.00 and last but not least Drawing Fee 24.00. And they say they have billed my insurance company but my insurance company has requested information from me. I have not heard from my insurance company yet. I hope I am not "Antinuclear" ? At the Dallas Lab there was a group of 3 or 4 devoted to handling problems such as this. There are systems in place within the lab to track all samples. Unfortunately these systems do not always work. The numbers show that even with a 0.01% loss rate there would be 2 samples lost every day in just the Dallas lab.
